Train the Trainer

Aims:
The aim of this course is to train and develop Training Instructors to nationally recognised qualification standards.

Duration:
Four one-day sessions at the Textile Centre of Excellence.

Train the Trainer

Plus:
In-company follow-up training with individual delegates; spread over a further three days to enable them to achieve City & Guilds Unit Certificate L11 - Enable learning through demonstrations and instructions.

Content: Delegates will receive training in the following areas:

  • What am I going to train?
    Job Analysis, Task Breakdown, Knowledge/skill items, Quality aspects, Safety aspects
  • Who am I going to train?
    Types of trainees, barriers to training
  • How am I going to train?
    How and why people learn, Induction to the job, Timetabling, Demonstration/Instruction skills
  • Why is safety important?
    CIEH Foundation Certificate in Health & Safety
  • How do I evaluate/monitor progress?
    Methods of evaluation, Recording progress, Feedback/review sessions
  • Putting it all into practice
    Preparation and completion of individual training manuals. Carrying out 1:1 demonstration/instruction

Certification On completion of the course delegates will receive the following qualifications:

  • Trainer Training Certificate (issued by the Textile Centre of Excellence)
  • City & Guilds Certificate Unit L11
  • CIEH Level 2 Award in Health & Safety
