Apprenticeship Training
The Apprenticeship Framework Programme provides the opportunity for young people without formal qualifications to obtain a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at Level 2 together with Key Skills Qualifications at Level 1 and Technical Certificate at Level 2.
The NVQ qualification is obtained by assessment at the candidate's place of work. For Key Skills the majority of the work is completed in the work place although attendance at the Textile Centre of Excellence may be required to "sit" the Key Skills examinations which last 1 - 1.5hrs per exam.
Apprenticeship training is available in the following areas:
- Textiles
Level 2 Award in Manufacturing Textiles 4342 with City & Guilds, Key Skills at Level 1 in Application of Number & Communication with EDI Ltd and Technical Certificate Level 2 with ABC Awards.
- Apparel
Certificate in Manufacturing Sewn Products NVQ Level 2 with ABC Awards, Key Skills at Level 1 in Application of Number & Communication with EDI Ltd and Technical Certificate Level 2 with ABC Awards.
- Business & Administration
NVQ at Level 2 in Business Administration with City & Guilds, Key Skills at Level 1 in Application of Number, Level 2 in Communication with EDI Ltd. Technical Certificate in Business Administration at Level 2 with City & Guilds.
- Warehousing & Storage
NVQ at Level 2 in Warehousing & Storage with City & Guilds, Key Skills in Application of Number and Communication at Level 1 with EDI Ltd, and Technical Certificate Level 2 with City & Guilds.
- Print
NVQ at Level 2 in Machine Printing with City & Guilds, Key Skills in Application of Number, Communication and Problem Solving at Level 1 with EDI Ltd and Technical Certificate in Printing & Graphical Communication at Level 2 with City & Guilds.
The Advanced Apprenticeship Programme
The Advanced Apprenticeship Programme provides the opportunity for young people with 4 GCSEs at Grades A - C to obtain: A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at Level 3, Key Skills at Level 2 and Technical Certificate Qualifications also at Level 3.
The NVQ qualification is obtained by assessment at the candidate's place of work. For Key Skills the majority of the work is completed in the work place although attendance at the Textile Centre may be required to "sit" the Key Skills examinations which last 1 - 1.5hrs per exam.
Advanced Apprenticeship training is available in the following areas:
- Textile Technician Level
NVQ at Level 3 in Manufacturing Textiles 4132 with City & Guilds, Key Skills at Level 2 in Application of Number and Communication with EDI Ltd. Certificate in Textile Technology at Level 3 with ABC Awards.
- Apparel Apprenticeship Level 3
QCF Certificate in Apparel Technology Level 3 with ABC awards, Key Skills at Level 2 in Application of Number & Communication with EDI Ltd and Diploma in Apparel Production at Level 3 with ABC Awards.
- Business & Administration Supervisory Level 3
NVQ at Level 3 in Business Administration with City & Guilds, Key Skills at Level 2 in Application of Number and Communication with EDI Ltd. Technical Certificate in Business Administration at Level 3 with City & Guilds.
- Warehousing & Storage Level 3
NVQ at Level 3 in Logistics Operations Management with City & Guilds, Key Skills at Level 2 in Application of Number and Communication with EDI Ltd and Technical Certificate in Logistics & Transport at Level 3 with CILTUK.
- Print (Advanced)
NVQ at Level 3 in Machine Printing with City & Guilds, Key Skills at Level 2 in Application of Number, Communication and Problem Solving with EDI Ltd and Technical Certificate in Printing & Graphical Communication at Level 3 with City & Guilds.
